Christmas
Now is advent season, Christmas is coming. We must know why we celebrate Christmas. Remember, it is to celebrate the birth of our Lord. As a Christian, we must know this, and we must teach our children (though I still don’t have children). We are not celebrate for other else, not for Santa Claus. But a lot of people wear like Santa Claus during Christmas Carolling.
Our Lord born in poverty, we need to meditate this, not wearing like Santa Claus and doing some funny things during Christmas Carolling.
Why do I create blog?
There are several reasons that I create blog. First reason is just because sometimes I feel boring. So, why don’t I write something?
Another reason is about a learning theory: Social constructivism. I don’t know how to describe the whole theory. But the concept of social constructivism gave me a great impression. That is, we construct knowledge through interaction, and the language is the medium of interaction.
Why I was impressed? This is related to my spiritual life. We know that Son of God is the Word of God. Therefore, we interact with God the Father through the Son. Even in this world, we also interact with each other through language, and then construct knowledge. How wonderful it is.
Creed
About the Creed, it is about what we (or I) believe. Therefore, inside Creed, there is about the Holy Trinity. Besides that, Creed can be separated into twelve parts.
In accordance with an ancient tradition, already attested to by St. Ambrose, it is also customary to reckon the articles of the Creed as twelve, thus symbolizing the fullness of the apostolic faith by the number of the apostles.

Chance and fate
Some people believe that everything happened by chance according to the probability. Some people believe that everything is happened by fate. What do you believe?
If this world is only worked in probability, that means because by chance, “Big Bang” happened then the world is born.
If this world is only worked in probability, that means my parents were met by chance.
If this world is only worked in probability, that means because by chance, I was born.
If this world is only worked in probability, that means my mind existed because of chance, and all my life on earth is only happened because of probability.
Catholic parents should know
I don’t know what title should this be.
I just read the RSS news, and found that there is a film called “The Golden Compass” which is based on the book. The conclusion of the news is, parents are not recommended to allow their children to watch the film and read the book.
The following is the quote:
It’s not OK for children – impressionable as they are – to read stories in which the plot revolves around the supreme blasphemy, namely, that God is a liar and a mortal. It is not appropriate for children to read books in which the heroine is the product of adultery and murder; priests act as professional hit men, torturers and authorize occult experimentation on young children; an ex-nun engages in occult practices and promiscuous behavior, and speaks of it openly with a 12-year-old couple; and the angels who rebel against God are good, while those who fight on God’s side are evil. This is wrong. And while it’s been softened in the movie – or at least that’s what Hollywood is telling us – it’s still there in the books.

Sabbath and Sunday
I don’t know every body know this or not. Just one to share, because I taugth catechism before, and taught the children about this.
Sabbath is acutally Saturday. If follow the Jewish custom, it is from Friday sunset until Saturday sunset. Because, for Jewish, a day start from sunset. That is why we celebrate sunset mass on Saturday and it fulfils the Sunday obligation. And, Sabbath is the day of rest.
An imagination: Mind without brain
This is just my imagination: the mind without brain.
Some people may think that there is no soul. And the mind is the brain. So when a man died, then his mind will disappear, just like sleep without dream. Therefore, they can do whatever they like, because after they died, there is no more pleasure.
Some people, may believe the existence of soul. But if the mind is not part of the soul, they can still do whatever they like, because after they died, there is no more pleasure, feeling and else.
Reincarnation
Recently read the news about Dalai Lama, then I searched something about reincarnation.
As a Catholic, I do not believe about “reincarnation”. However, we might hear people claim that they have the past memories from the previous life. Is this really heapen? If you are a Catholic, how do you explain this? The memories may be fake, but how if it is really correct?
So, this is only my own opinion. We know that, the material world is worked in cycle. A man died, then the body decomposed, and become part of the soil. Then the plants get the nutrients from the soil, and plants are eaten by herbivores. And the herbivores become part of the food chain. Human beings eat the food, and the nutrients become part of the human body. Then, human beings give birth for the new lives. In my opinion, this is the reincarnation of the body.
Prayer: Our Father who art in Heaven
As a Catholic, I heard the prayer “Our Father” frequently. However, there are many variations of the prayer Our Father. The most common one is the modern translation, “Our Father in Heaven, holy be Your name…”
Don’t know why, different area different style. I heard a weird version of “Our Father”, that is: “Our Father who art in Heaven, holy be Your name…”
Why I say it is weird? Have you read the words like: Thee, Thy, Thou, Thine and else? These are the archaic English, which means “You”.
thee = you
thou = you
thy = your
thine = yours
(Hope that I do not make it wrong…)
